Construction of a high-performance, energy-efficient residence designed and built to Passive House principles (not formally certified). The project utilised Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) to form the primary wall and roof structure, providing a highly insulated and airtight building envelope.

The home incorporates a Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) system to maintain consistent indoor air quality and temperature while minimising energy loss. High-performance uPVC double-glazed windows and doors were installed throughout to enhance thermal performance and reduce heat transfer.

A strong focus was placed on occupant health and environmental responsibility through the use of low-VOC paints, finishes, adhesives and sealants, helping to create a healthier indoor environment.

Sustainability initiatives extend beyond the building envelope and include the installation of a rainwater harvesting system, responsible material selection, and construction practices aimed at reducing waste and improving overall building efficiency.

The result is a comfortable, durable and energy-efficient home that demonstrates practical application of sustainable building principles within a residential construction project.
